2024 OSITE Officer Elections - Please vote if you are an ITE member
It’s time to elect new board members for 2024. You can submit your votes by submitting the form the in the link below. Voting will remain open for 30 days, with a deadline of Thursday, December 21, 2023. ITE International membership is required for your votes to be counted. If any non-ITE members submit the linked form, we will notify you via the email address you provide in the form. If membership is obtained before the deadline, your votes will be counted. Non-ITE members interested in joining can visit www.ite.org and select Join ITE (upper left of homepage, or under Membership drop-down) for information on getting started.

MoVITE Section Representative: Dane Seiler (CJW Transportation Consultants) is running uncontested to fill the vacancy following Jason Haynes’ term limit being reached.
OSITE 1st AND 2nd Year Directors: We will be electing two new board members to be appointed as First or Second Year Directors. Submit your vote using this link or the link above. We have some competition this year, so we have included some background info on the candidates for your reference:
Justin Orf
Justin joined CJW in 2018. His experience encompasses an array of transportation engineering & planning skills, including transportation systems analysis, micro-simulation traffic modeling, transportation master planning, utility coordination, traffic safety studies, and signal design. Justin also served as a city councilman in his hometown for 6+ years. This experience has equipped him with a unique perspective on working with elected officials and government agencies. Justin recently obtained his PE license and is currently pursuing an MBA with focuses in Project Management and Leadership. Justin is excited to be a part of OSITE and looks forward to helping advance the organization.
Grady Porter
Grady Porter is currently a Professional Engineer for the City of Springfield Public Works Traffic Engineering Department. Grady Graduated from Missouri S&T in 2015 and worked for 7 years as a Traffic Studies Specialist for MoDOT. Grady was hired at the City of Springfield in 2022 and is an active member of several committees including Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, Ozark Greenways Tech Committee, Riparian Corridor Subcommittee, and is a Co-Chair for the Let’s Go Smart Committee.
Austin Hostettler
Austin is a 2021 Missouri S&T graduate with a BS in Civil Engineering and specializes in traffic and transportation. As an EIT at Great River Engineering, he has gained experience in highway/interchange design, roadway/intersection design, roundabout design, traffic analysis, planning, and multi-modal design. With a recent transition to project management, Austin has also spent time in construction administration, navigating the LPA process, and managing projects, budgets, and project teams. Having passed his PE exam in Spring 2022, he awaits licensure pending completion of the experience requirement.
Shannon Shank
Shannon received his BS in Civil Engineering from Missouri S&T and has over 25 years of experience focused on the design of roadway improvements, corridor studies, intersections, and signal design, and has performed multiple traffic impact studies for proposed developments in various communities. Since joining Great River Engineering in 2012, his focus has continued to be traffic related. Shannon is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri and a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE). As a founding member of OSITE (then OCITE), Shannon desires to increase his involvement in ITE/MoVITE/OSITE.

About The Ozarks Section
OSITE is the Ozarks Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). ITE is the international professional society for persons engaged in the planning, design, and operation of streets, highways, and other transportation facilities. The section is open to all professionals and students involved in the transportation industry around the Ozarks. The Missouri Valley Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (MOVITE) chartered OCITE on February 5, 2003. OCITE began with 21 charter members and has now grown to more than 100 members. The area designated as that of OSITE is the twenty-four (24) Missouri counties in Southwest Missouri including Vernon, Barton, Jasper, Newton, McDonald, Cedar, Dade, Lawrence, Barry, Polk, Greene, Stone, Christian, Taney, Dallas, Webster, Douglas, Ozark, Wright, Laclede, Pulaski, Texas, Howell, and Phelps.
In 2020, OCITE officially became a Section under directive from ITE and has now become the Ozarks Section of the ITE (OSITE).
The purpose of the chapter is to:
• Advance the objectives of the Institute of Transportation Engineers;
• Foster closer association of Institute members;
• Encourage members to prepare or discuss papers;
• Prepare suggestions on matters of policy to the Board of Direction of the Institute of Transportation Engineers;
• Consider local transportation and traffic engineering problems;
• Cooperate with other local engineering groups on matters of common interest;
• Present the transportation and traffic engineering point of view consistent with established Institute of Transportation Engineers policies; and
• Encourage the introduction of transportation and traffic engineering courses in colleges, universities, and technical schools in the Chapter.
