About ITE and OSITE ...
ITE-A Community of Transportation Professionals (ITE) works to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities.
Founded in 1930, ITE is a volunteer-driven association of ore than 18,000 engineers, planners, consultants, educators, researchers, technologists, and students working in more than 78 countries.
ITE Ozarks Section (OSITE) is affiliated with the ITE Missouri Valley (MOVITE) District. We provide opportunities for professional development and community building at the regional and local levels through annual meetings, training, luncheons, and connecting members with area Student Chapters.
The Ozarks Section is open to all professionals and students involved in the transportation industry around the Ozarks. The area designated as that of OSITE is the twenty-four (24) Missouri counties in Southwest Missouri including Vernon, Barton, Jasper, Newton, McDonald, Cedar, Dade, Lawrence, Barry, Polk, Greene, Stone, Christian, Taney, Dallas, Webster, Douglas, Ozark, Wright, Laclede, Pulaski, Texas, Howell, and Phelps. In 2020, the Ozarks Chapter became the Ozarks Section as part of a broader ITE restructuring, thus OCITE became OSITE.
The purpose of the Ozarks Section is to:
• Advance the objectives of the ITE-A Community of Transporation Professionals (ITE)
• Foster closer association of ITE members
• Encourage members to prepare or discuss papers
• Prepare suggestions on matters of policy to the Board of Direction of ITE
• Consider local transportation and traffic engineering problems
• Cooperate with other local engineering groups on matters of common interest
• Present the transportation industry point of view consistent with established ITE policies; and
• Encourage the introduction of transportation and traffic engineering courses in colleges, universities, and technical schools within the Section
OSITE is proud to be a part of ITE Missouri Valley (MOVITE). More information on MOVITE can be found at: http://www.movite.org/
